Treatment of Burning feet

Burning feet or feet that experience a burning sensation is usually due to some sort of nerve or neurological damage. The feet are not actually burning; it is just the nervous system interpreting the sensation of burning. The painful neuropathy that occurs in those with longstanding diabetes is the most common cause of this. The treatment of burning feet is difficult as there are few that can be done locally to the foot to treat the burning. The treatment will depend on the underlying disease process, of which diabetes is just one. Often drugs to reduce the pain are the only option.
