A sauna needs a heater to function.
The sauna heater creates heat and steam. People will place stones on their heaters and pour water over them. This produces more steam. The only heaters that don’t use stones, are infrared models. Infrared heaters emit heat that warms a person directly. The surrounding air does not get steamy and hot. It’s less traditional and some people prefer it, because excessive steam can make some people ill. For those who have an outdoor sauna, there is the wood burning heater. The only problem with that type of sauna heater is that there is no thermostat. Temperatures can be adjusted on electric sauna heater. It’s cost-efficent and easy to use, hence making it the most common used heater for a sauna.
