I lived a simple life

I lived a simple life and never had the chance to experience many modern thrills and pleasures. But then we didn’t miss what we didn’t have, and appreciated my mother’s cooking instead. My mother was a great cook. With the best cookware set she owned, which was a rather cheap one, my mother could make cuisines. We always drew close to the kitchen just before mealtimes just to take in the lovely smell of delicious food sizzling in the pan or boiling in the pot. Once or twice a year, she would conjure up something scrumptious enough to make our mouths water for days.
