Is Real Illegal Immigration Enforcement Possible?

Right now, there is 7,000 miles of border that must be patrolled between Mexico and Canada, and another 2,000 miles of coastline around Florida and southern California that also need to be watched. It can seem almost impossible to have any kind or real security in these areas when there is so much area, and not enough people.

Some organizations have suggested, though, that real illegal immigration enforcement is possible if more advanced technology could be implemented at the border, and if the laws that pertain to companies hiring illegal immigrants were more strictly enforced. This would make it easier for border patrols to do their jobs and fewer employment opportunities in the country would make it less appealing for people to attempt to gain unauthorized entry.
